Our goal as a company is to make a positive impact on the broader global community by advancing technology and research. Achieving this requires us to carefully consider the impact of our operations from multiple perspectives. By strengthening the sustainability of our operations – such as reducing resource consumption and improving energy efficiency – we ensure that our positive contributions are long-lasting and meaningful.

Sustainability at Bluefors

We are cool for progress – but it must be sustainable progress, meaning our advancements cannot come at the expense of the environment, people, or any other entity. Sustainability is our shared responsibility.

Prioritizing sustainability allows us to build a resilient and innovative company that serves the interests of everyone involved: people, business, and the planet . By continuously seeking ways to enhance our sustainability, we can better support our customers in creating positive impact.

Our journey toward sustainability is just beginning. Our first steps have involved research, data collection, and analyzing the materiality of different sustainability topics for us. To better understand and improve our footprint, we look beyond our internal operations and consider the entire value chain in which we operate. This means looking at the entire lifecycle of our products: from our suppliers to organization-level operations to our customers and product usage. We are confident that through collective efforts, we can not only mitigate our impact but also set new standards for sustainability in our industry.

Our Sustainability Focus Areas

Environment

We are aiming to reduce emissions throughout the value chain and product lifecycle. We are working to integrate circular economy principles into the product lifecycle, minimize waste, conserve resources, and lower energy consumption in our facilities.

Social Responsibility

We continuously work to promote employee wellbeing, diversity, equality and inclusion as well as skills development. A core aspect of our social responsibility is ensuring a healthy and safe workplace for all employees.

Governance

We uphold high standards of compliance and prioritize transparency and responsible business conduct. We focus on ensuring robust governance, steering, and risk management for environmental, social, and business issues.

Warehouse space in our new facility in Helsinki opened in November 2023.

Supply Chain Responsibility

We strengthen the sustainability of our supply chain by collaborating with like-minded partners and suppliers. Our goal is to minimize the environmental impacts of our supply chain and maintain ethical sourcing practices.
