KIDE Cryogenic Platform

Large-Scale Cryogenic Measurement System

The KIDE Cryogenic Platform is designed for large-scale quantum computing, and supports more than 1000 qubits.

The KIDE Cryogenic Platform is a cryogenic measurement system designed for large-scale quantum computing. It can support the measurement infrastructure required to operate over 1000 qubits, with a capacity of over 4 000 RF lines and 500 kg of payload.

The system brings unparalleled user access, with doors on the self-supporting vacuum chamber enabling the system to be operated by a single person. It also offers users enhanced control of the cryogenic technology through separated cooling, enabling user-specific configurations.

Product Highlights

1.0

KIDE Cryogenic Platform

Large-Scale Cryogenic Measurement System

Built for Large Quantum Computing Infrastructure

The KIDE Cryogenic Platform is designed for the needs of large-scale quantum computing. The system features a large payload space via the 1.6 m2 surface area of the base temperature flange. This large area is complemented by the ability to support a heavy mass of up to 500 kg.

The system has three cooling units, providing an expected > 3000 µW of cooling power at 100 mK. With its large payload space and cooling power, the KIDE Cryogenic Platform supports the measurement infrastructure needed for operating over 1000 qubits.

Vast Wiring Capabilities

The KIDE Cryogenic Platform provides vast wiring capabilities with over 40 available ports, including 24 line-of-sight side-loading ports. This allows for more than 4000 High-Density Wiring RF lines to be installed into the system.

  • 24 LOS side-loading ports
  • 12 side ports (non-LOS)
  • 9 x KF40 ports

Easily Accessible Payload Space

User access to cryogenic measurement systems has been reimagined and redesigned with the KIDE Cryogenic Platform. The system features a self-supporting vacuum chamber and radiation shields, with direct access to the payload space available through the full height doors on the vacuum chamber. This provides easy access to user payloads and installed measurement infrastructure, making it easy for one person to operate and maintain the system.

Better Control with Separated Cooling

The system enables better control of the cryogenic technology through separated cooling. Three independent dilution cooling units can be used to optimize payload cooling through multiple cooling configurations. The system also offers a high cooling capacity above 4 K provided by 9 Pulse Tube Cryocoolers with functional separation. There are dedicated pulse tubes for operational cooling, customer payload cooling, and cooling the shields.

These features deliver improved control of the technology and allow for user-specific configurations of available space, cooling power, and temperature.

Long Cooling Cycles

The KIDE Cryogenic Platform can be run with extended cooling cycles, providing the optimal environment to operate quantum computers for long periods of time without interruption. The system features a Long-Life Cold Trap that allows continuous operation of the system for up to three years when used together with the LN2 Trap.

Ease of Maintenance

The cooling units of the system are loaded from the top of the system, which enables them to be serviced with minimum affect on the user wiring and components. The self-supporting vacuum chamber with multiple access points also enables easier maintenance of the system.

System internals can be easily accessed using the doors, and the radiation shields of the system have frames with detachable side walls and bottoms, which can be removed by one person.

The large size of the system also makes it possible to work inside the system at the base stage.
