It’s an ideal solution for low boil-off applications and can be installed in spaces where there is not enough space for large-scale recovery systems. The system also requires less helium purification because it uses storage tanks as the buffer volume.

Helium Management

The system leverages a control box that will direct your boil-off down one of two routes depending on the flow rate of said boil-off. Throughout the day-to-day low flow rate boil-off, helium gas will be passed through the mini purifier and directly to the Liquid Helium Plant or the Helium Reliquefier.

During high flow rate boil-off events, the control box will direct gas to a buffer volume instead of the Liquid Helium Plant. After this, a 100psi high flow rate recovery compressor turns on to fill storage cylinders that will hold 4 liters of liquid helium each. When the high boil-off event concludes, the control box will begin to pump the helium out the storage cylinders to the Liquid Helium Plant to occupy the rest of the plant’s capacity in conjunction with the low boil-off from your cryostat.
