The Cryomech HeRL01-RM Helium Reliquefier is our next generation solution for direct helium recovery from a single NMR system. It’s based on the same proven design used in our similar models to create a closed-loop, zero-boil-off system for your NMR magnet. The HeRL01-RM uses a new compact cryocooler, reducing power consumption and allowing the system to operate on single‑phase power. This makes it a significantly more energy‑efficient and cost‑effective choice for NMR helium recovery.

Helium Recovery Solution for Single NMR units

The HeRL01-RM is designed to meet the capacity of an NMR magnet and employs vibration mitigation techniques that do not interfere with NMR spectroscopy. With a closed-loop, zero-boil-off system, boil-off helium is passed through a vapor return line to the cryocooler-powered reliquefier, which instantly liquefies the boil-off and returns it to the magnet’s helium bath.

The model is based on the proven design of the HeRL02-RM. The technology has been field tested on multiple NMR units of varying magnet strength with no effect on the results. It’s an ideal solution for small laboratories with multiple NMR systems, or organizations with dispersed magnets.


Low Power Consumption

The HeRL01‑RM features our compact Cryomech PT404 Pulse Tube Cryocooler* together with a CP103 compressor, bringing a major efficiency boost to the system. With this integration, the HeRL01‑RM operates on single‑phase power, making it incredibly energy‑efficient and cost‑effective. This upgrade reduces power requirements, cuts operating costs, and makes the system easier to integrate into a wider range of laboratory environments.

*The PT404 Pulse Tube Cryocooler is the 4K version of our PT205 cold head.


Easy NMR Helium Management

By using direct helium recovery, you no longer need to actively manage the helium used to cool down your magnets. Stop worrying about refilling helium and scheduling helium transfers; let the HeRL01-RM manage your helium for you. Drop-in installation through an existing fill port makes it easy to add the system to your NMR setup.


Increase Uptime and Reduce Quench Risk

With no need for helium refills, NMR system downtime is reduced, providing more time for experimentation. With a closed-loop, zero-boil-off system magnet, quench risk is reduced as well.


Unmatched Reliability with Cryomech Cryocoolers

The Cryomech HeRL01-RM can be operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, reliably, automatically, and safely. The system is powered by a Cryomech Pulse Tube Cryocooler, designed for high reliability with long mean times between maintenance, and a warranty of three years or 12 000 hours on parts and materials offered.
