Microwave Readout Module

Measurement Infrastructure

Preassembled Microwave Readout Module with a TWPA and all the connected microwave components needed to amplify very weak microwave signals.

The Microwave Readout Module is designed to perform near-quantum-limited amplification of signals at millikelvin temperatures.

Preassembled and easily integrated into Bluefors Dilution Refrigerator Measurement Systems, the module includes a traveling wave parametric amplifier (TWPA) and all the connected microwave components needed for a readout line setup.

It offers a wide band of frequencies, supporting multiplexed qubit readouts. The solution can also be used for superconducting sensor and detector readouts. The module provides a high signal-to-noise ratio and reliable performance.

Readout Solution with a TWPA

With the Microwave Readout Module, you can get a complete readout line setup for qubit readouts in one package. The module includes a high-performance, ready-to-go TWPA solution and all the related microwave components, eliminating the need for separate subcomponents. The module for the XLDsl system is 2-channel solution and the module for the LD system is a single-channel solution.

Minimum Setup Time

The Microwave Readout Module is designed to be a complete and modular solution, enabling easy installation in both XLDsl and LD systems. The module comes pre-tuned for your measurements, and pre-assembled and tested in the dilution refrigerator measurement system. Installation into existing systems is also straightforward. Expert technical support is available from installation to maintenance during use.

High-Performing Solution

Thanks to its 3-wave mixing process, the TWPA provides uninterrupted and flat gain across the wide readout bandwidth with the parametric pump tone located far away in frequency from the signal band. The entire module is optimized for a high signal-to-noise ratio with highly efficient magnetic shielding and integrated noise isolation solutions.

Reliable Performance

The module provides consistent and stable performance. It has a high packing density and the TWPA chip has negligible magnetic flux crosstalk. Due to the niobium Josephson junction technology and aluminum oxide passivation on the chip, the TWPA chip is less prone to aging.
