Semicon Europa 2019: From Quantum Computing to NewSpace

Our CSO, David Gunnarsson, gives a talk about the cryogenics role in quantum technology at the Semicon Europa in Munich November 14, 2019. The session “From Quantum Computing to NewSpace: Innovations from the Finnish Semiconductor Ecosystem” is held at the Technological Platform for Innovation (TechARENA 1, from 12:15 to 2 pm).

David Gunnarsson will give a brief background of Bluefors and our forecast on how modern cryogenics is a possibility for pursuing quantum technologies. David says, “Quantum technology has the promise of taking detection, information security and computation technologies beyond the capabilities of current state of the art by harvesting the quantum nature of things. Many of the technologies that explore the advantages of quantum nature require a measurement infrastructure that can operate at cryogenic temperatures, down to a few thousandths of a kelvin. This is especially true for many of the current efforts for creating a quantum computer. Bluefors is the leading company in the world providing tools for a cryogenic measurement infrastructure and has a key role in the supply chain of quantum computation.”

The other speakers from the Finnish semiconductor industry covers topics of NewSpace opportunities (VTT), smart molded structures (TactoTek), color X-RAY and gamma cameras (Advacam), and AI application use cases (VTT).

The session is sponsored by VTT, the Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd. Welcome!
