Company Overview

Founders:

   Dr. Rob Blaauwgeers
 Pieter Vorselman (M.Sc. in Physics)

History:

In 2005 Rob was hired by the Low Temperature Laboratory (LTL) at Helsinki University of Technology to move and upgrade all (6) dilution refrigerators (DR), two of them being large nuclear cooling DR's. One of  the tasks was to construct new and versatile, fully automated gas handling systems (AGHS), which should be able to work in combination with all the different DR's. At the same time Rob started to construct the first dry-DR for the LTL. In the summer of 2006 the first prototype of the new AGHS went in operation and first tests were done in combination with the dry-DR (under construction). In practise it immediately became clear how much more "simple" and less labour intensive it was to cool down this dry-DR with AGHS, compared to cooling down a regular DR. Rob contacted study friend and cryogenic engineer Pieter. Together they optimized the automated dry-DR system for robustness and ease of use. In 2007 BlueFors (Blaauwgeers-Vorselman) Cryogenics was established and the first dry-DR taken into use by the NANO-group of the LTL.

Present:

Pieter and Rob are dedicated to build easy to operate (one push button cool down) dry-DR systems suited to the needs of each particular customer. Together Pieter and Rob have over 30 years of ultra low temperature physics and engineering experience. This dedication and expertise will make sure that each final product is trouble free with a guaranteed long life time.
